About Me...

I have been a bodyworker for many years with training in Lomi Lomi and Thai massage. In recent years the focus of my bodywork has moved into the realm of tantra, healing, education, and coaching in the area of human sexuality. My focus is still massage but I use touch as a way to teach people how to have more fulfilling sex and intimacy. This is embodied or somatic education.

Gazing With MaryseMy tantra (sacred sexuality) training began with Maryse Côté. I have assisted Maryse in creating workshops for her students and I have facilitated many of my own classes.

I have completed the Certified Sexological Bodywork program, at The Institute For Advanced Study in Human Sexuality in San Francisco lead by Dr. Joseph Kramer, a world leader of somatic sex education and the founder of the The Body Electric School. Dr. Kramer's website is www.eroticmassage.com.

I'm continuously upgrading my expertise in sexuality and healing therapies. My most recent training has been in somatic psychotherapy with Hilary Mackey. At this time I'm especially interested at this time in the work of Staci Haines in generative somatics and their role in sexual healing.

I have an unusual and diverse personal history. In 1990 I graduated from the Royal Military College with an Honours Degree in Civil Engineering and spent several years as an officer in the Military Engineers. Leaving that phase of my life I became an extreme whitewater kayaker and river raft guide, then a professional photographer and then an environmentalist, before eventually settling into my role as a bodyworker. I've been to the school of life.

My healing gifts arise out of a great amount of my own "work" done via tantric practice, meditation (Vipassana), therapy (EMDR), and embodiment practices like ecstatic dance and contact improvisation dance. My own "work" is always ongoing. I recognize that I can only guide my clients as far as I have gone myself.

I have exceptionally clear boundaries and communication skills in order to create a safe space for my clients to go deep into their process. My gentle sense of humour (believe me around sex you have to have one) puts people at ease.

I am in a committed and passionate love relationship with my Beloved Jessica. She whole-heartedly supports me in my work. By far, this relationship has been my greatest teacher about sex and intimacy.

I am inspired by my work because it greatly improves quality of life. I believe that being empowered in sexuality is the foundation for well being in all areas of life.

My hope is that my work helps create a world where everyone can celebrate the inherent sensuality of their body and enjoy a healthy expression of their sexuality.

Somatic Sex and Intimacy Coaching

Tantric Massage

Relaxation Massage

I think I want to try Somatic Sex and Intimacy Coaching but I'm not sure?

I realize that the idea of Somatic Sex and Intimacy Coaching may seem unusual to you and you may want to explore it more before committing. To make it easier for you, I offer a no charge, 45 minute, intro session. In this session we just talk. You can ask me any questions you wish and we can see if we are a good fit for each other. If we mutually decide to work together I'll require a minimum commitment from you of at least three sessions of 1-3 hours. Depending on your needs, more sessions may be required.

How long are sessions and how many sessions will I need?

Somatic Sex and Intimacy Coaching - The first intro session is 45 minutes. Following sessions are 1-3 hours long. The minimum number of sessions is typically 3. How many you need depends on your specific goals.

Tantric Massage - The first time you come to see me, the minimum length session is 2 hours. Longer sessions of up to 3 hours are more powerful. After you've seen me once, I will do 1.5 hour tantric massage sessions with you. The number of sessions you require depends on your needs. I ask for no commitment for a certain number of sessions but regular sessions are very powerful.

Relaxation massage - The minimum length session is 1 hour but I'll do up to 3 hour sessions. I ask for no commitment for a certain number of sessions.

What are your fees and what forms of payment do you accept?

For Somatic Sex Coaching and Tantric Massage I charge $100/hr when working in my studio. Prices vary for couples sessions where I am working with another bodyworker. Please call me. For outcalls there is an additional fee of at least $60 but it could be more if you are far from where I live. For new clients I accept cash or if you wish to pay in advance you can do so with a credit card via an online service called paypal. For repeat clients I do accept cheques.

What days and times are you available?

I generally schedule sessions between 10am and 8pm usually on weekdays but sometimes on weekends. I can possibly work outside those hours if the session is scheduled well in advance.

How do I arrange a session?

Call me at 604-618-3381 or email me at info@massagebyki.com. You may get my voicemail. I promptly return phone calls.

Where is your studio located?

My studio is in Kitsilano on West Broadway near Alma. This a very safe neighbourhood. Its a 10-15 minute drive from downtown Vancouver or a $15 cab ride. Several city buses stop nearby as well. I'll give you my exact address when you arrange a session.

Is there parking near your studio?

There is ample free parking near my studio. It's never a problem.

What is your studio setup like?

My studio is cozy, warm and private. There is a shower available. I work on a professional massage table with a face rest and soft flannel sheets. I use a very high quality, light, non-scented, vegetable-based massage oil.

What safety and hygienic measures do you take?

My clients and my own health and safety is of paramount importance to me. I do touch. When I touch the genitals, anus or nearby areas, I always wear gloves. I use nitrile or vinyl gloves because they don't break down with massage oil. (Note: My apologies, my photos don't show me wearing gloves. I'm in the process of getting new photos.)

Do you work in the nude?

No. In the complicated world of sexuality, my being clothed helps maintains a safe space and clear boundaries with my clients. At times I do work without a shirt because I keep my studio warm and its helps me to be comfortable.

Do you allow your clients to touch you?

Not in tantic masssage. The touch is just one-way. I have found two-way touch detracts from my clients going deep into their own experience. For many people it can be an important lesson to let go of having to do anything and just receive.

In Somatic Sex and Intimacy Coaching there may be some touch towards me if I am specifically teaching you touch skills. We would verbally discuss and agree upon very clear boundaries and learning objectives before touch happened.

Do you offer "extra" services not advertised on this website?

No. I absolutely do not have sex with my clients.

Are you comfortable working with people who have "alternative" expressions of sexuality and gender?

I'm very comfortable working with anyone regardless of their gender or flavour of sexual expression. My work is simply to love and assist my clients, however they choose to identify and express themselves.

What if I have other questions?

I suggest carefully reading through the descriptions of my services and then, if your question has not been answered, just call me at 604-618-3381. I'm used to people asking me all kinds of questions. So don't be shy. Just ask away. I encourage honesty and I promise to listen and answer respectfully.
