About Ki Bournes...

I see myself in the roles of teacher and healer. Conscious touch, clear boundaries and communication are the cornerstones of my work which has evolved out of my study and practice of several meditation, bodywork and psychoptherapy modalities.

Above and beyond all the techniques I use the most import piece of my work, which makes everything else possible, is loving-kindness and mindfullness, skills which I developed and continue to expand with Vipassana (Buddhist) meditation.

I'm trained in Lomi Lomi and Thai massage techniques and have many years of experience. I have great touch skills.

Gazing With MaryseMy tantra (sacred sexuality) training began with Maryse Côté and has continued with my own study. I have assisted Maryse in many tantra trainings and I have facilitated many of my own classes.

I completed the Certified Sexological Bodywork program, at The Institute For Advanced Study in Human Sexuality in San Francisco lead by Dr. Joseph Kramer, a world leader of somatic sex education and the founder of the The Body Electric School.

Another one of my honoured teachers is Dr. Betty Martin. Betty is a master in her understanding and teaching about safety, boundaries and agreements when engaging in sensual touch.

I'm continuously expanding my knowledge and expertise in healing practices. Most recently I have recognized the need to be able to help my clients on a deep emotional level through the skills employed in psychotherapy. I have trained in somatic psychotherapy with Hilary Mackey. I have been studying the Hakomi method of body-centred psychotherapy for over 2 years now.

All of these practices inform my work but ultimately what happens in a session is guided by the unique needs of my client and what arises in the moment. I respond to the moment and work intuitively.

By far my greatest lessons about love, sex and intimacy have come from being in relationship with my long-time and beloved partner Jessica. It's a never ending opportunity for growth and learning. Currently we are learning about being new parents. Our son, Gabriel, was born in August 2009.

I have had many different life experiences. I have an Honours Degree in Civil Engineering from the Royal Military College of Canada and several years experince as an officer in the Military Engineers. I've also been a river raft guide, whitewater kayaker, photographer and an environmental activist before eventually choosing healing and education as my life's purpose.

I recognize that I can only guide my clients as far as I have gone myself. My work on myself is always ongoing through therapy, meditation, tantric practice and personal growth workshops.

I am passionate about my work because it vastly improves the quality of life of my clients. I believe that being empowered in one's sexuality is the key for well being in all areas of one's life.

My hope is that my work helps create a world where everyone can enjoy a healthy expression of their sexuality free of fear, guilt and shame and that this helps to foster a more peaceful and loving world.

I think I want to try Touch Centred Sex Education and Therapy but I'm not sure?

I realize that the idea of Touch Centred Sex Education and Therapy may seem unusual to you and you may want to explore it more before committing. To make it easier for you, I offer a $50, 45 minute to an hour, intro session. In this session we just talk. You can ask me any questions you wish and we can see if we are a good fit for each other. Based on your needs and resources we will make a plan from there.

How long are sessions and how many sessions will I need?

Touch Centred Sex Education and Therapy - If you wish we can do an intro session of 45 minutes to an hour or we can jump right into a longer session. Sessions are 1-3 hours long, but I prefer 1.5 hours or longer. How many sessions you do depends on your specific learning and healing goals and your resources. I have many clients who see me on an ongoing regular basis.

Tantric Massage - The first time you come to see me, the minimum length session is 2 hours. Longer sessions of up to 3 hours are more powerful. After you've seen me once, I will do 1.5 hour tantric massage sessions with you. The number of sessions you require depends on your needs. I ask for no commitment for a certain number of sessions but regular sessions are very powerful.

Relaxation massage - The minimum length session is 1 hour but I'll do up to 2 hour sessions. I ask for no commitment for a certain number of sessions.

What are your fees?

Tantric Massage is $120/hour.

Relaxation Massage is $100/hour.

For couples sessions of either Tantric Massage or Relaxation Massage, the fee in $120/hour if the session is with Ki alone or $260/hour if the session is with Ki and Casey.

These fees are for sessions done in my studio. If I am travelling to your residence or hotel in the downtown Vancouver area there is an additional one-time fee of $60. For destinations farther away please contact me.

For Touch Centred Sex Education and Therapy (TCSET) my fees vary between $80/hour - $120/hour depending on a number of factors. I offer a free consultation for anyone considering doing TCSET. During that time we will discuss fees.

Can I use my extended health care benefits for sex therapy sessions?

No, I am not a registered sex therapist. That being said the going rate for registered sex therapists in Vancouver is $135-$205 per hour with extended health care benefits covering typically from $15-$25 per visit. Viewed in this light my rates are very affordable.

What forms of payment do you accept?

I accept Cash, VISA, Mastercard, and Debit. Charges to your credit or debit card will appear as Massage By Ki.

What days and times are you available?

Monday 11:30am - 8pm
Tuesday 10am-4pm
Wednesday 11:30am-8pm
Thursday 10am-4pm
Friday 11:30am-8pm
Saturday 10am-4pm

These are the times that I am normally available. If you book well in advance I can be available outside of these times.

I have a busy practice so it's best to book your session well in advance. Short notice sessions are sometimes available.

How do I arrange a session?

Call or text me at 604-618-3381 or email me at info@massagebyki.com. You may get my voicemail. I return messages as soon as possible.

What is your cancellation policy?

There is a $25 fee for cancelling or rescheduling a booked session. I require 48 hours notice when cancelling a session otherwise full payment is expected.

Where is your studio located?

My studio is in a very safe neighbourhood with lots of fine shops and cafes. It's a 5-10 minute drive from downtown Vancouver or less than a $15 cab ride. Many city buses stop nearby as well. For the privacy of my clients I only give out the exact location of my studio upon confirming an appointment.

Is there parking near your studio?

There is ample free parking near my studio. It's never a problem.

What is your studio like?

My studio is tastefully decorated, cozy, warm and private. There is a shower available. I work on a professional massage table with a face rest and soft flannel sheets. I use organic coconut oil for massage oil.

Do you travel outside of Vancouver and what are the fees?

Yes I can come to your location. The cost is my travel costs and lodging, my normal hourly rate (2 hours daily minimum) plus $400 per day. Fees must be paid in advance.

What safety and hygienic measures do you take?

My clients and my own health and safety are of paramount importance to me. When I touch the genitals, anus or nearby areas, I always wear vinyl medical gloves. (Note: My apologies, my photos don't show me wearing gloves. I'm in the process of getting new photos.)

Do you work in the nude?

I keep my pants on. I usually do massage without a shirt because the studio is quite warm so it's more comfortable for me.

Is you work legal?

Yes. You will not be breaking any laws if you come to see me.

Do your clients touch you?

In Tantic Masssage sometimes my clients touch me. It really depends on how comfortable I feel in the moment and my sense of whether their touching me will help or hinder them to deepen into their erotic experience.

In Touch Centred Sex Education and Therapy sessions there if often touch from my clients to me. Before touching we discuss the learning or healing objectives being sought with that touch.

Are you comfortable working with people who have different sexual orientations and gender?

I openly accept and am comfortable working with any person of any gender (men, women, transgendered, genderqueer) or sexual orientation (gay, lesbian, straight, bi, bi-curious, queer, pansexual, heteroflexible, homoflexible, asexual, whatever). Labels really aren't that important to me - people are. Anyone can enjoy a massage or find more erotic freedom regardless of their gender or sexual orientation.

What if I have other questions?

I suggest carefully reading through the descriptions of my services and then, if your question has not been answered, just call me at 604-618-3381. I'm used to people asking me all kinds of questions. Don't be shy, just ask away. I encourage honesty and I promise to listen without judgement and answer respectfully.
